After nearly two decades in Brooklyn, Laura now lives in Los Angeles and serves as Purl Soho’s VP of Operations and Design Director, having started as a sales associate in 2010. Taught to knit by her grandmother and later re-taught by her mother, working at the shop cracked the craft open for her in a new way and she began designing. She loves stockinette stitch, her baseline for exploring yarn, structure, and shape, and delights in precise details like perfectly mirrored decreases or a delicate rolled edge. When she isn’t knitting, she loves mending well-loved garments, feasting with her family, and being walked by her hound dog, Ugo.
