Born and raised in Japan and now based in New York, Hiromi has been designing for Purl Soho for four years, after four years as a Sample Maker. She first learned to knit from her grandmothers and mother as a young child, and her designs reflect that deep-rooted connection: playful, nostalgic, and enriched by the traditions of Japanese craftsmanship. Traveling and learning about new cultures, food, and craft traditions continues to fuel her inspiration.
