Our Nine-Note Bundle Strikes A Chord

Made for you to love and enjoy, we put a lot of thought into our Nine-Note Bundle. It’s one of our favorite yarns, and once you get your hands on it, it will be one of yours, too!

Like a classic value study, the Nine-Note Bundle starts with one saturated color. We add more and more white to that color until all nine skeins gently flow from rich dark to luminescent light. An extraordinary opportunity to play with color, you can knit a simple gradient, combine two (or more!) palettes, add a main color as a backdrop, let your imagination go free!

The color is amazing, and so is the feeling of knitting your Nine-Note Bundle. One thing that makes it such a pleasure is its high twist spin. With many fine plies spun like a spring, this yarn is durable and resistant to pilling, and it also has a very lively bounce to its step. You can feel its sproing-y energy in every stitch you knit!

But in the end, this yarn is our desert-island choice because of how incredibly soft it is. Like, bunny rabbit soft. Top of baby’s head soft. Goose down soft. That’s thanks, in part, to the very special extra fine merino wool that accounts for 80% of the fiber in this yarn. Its micron count, which measures a fiber’s fineness and indicates its softness, is very close to cashmere’s count, and you really can feel that!

This yarn is also 20% baby alpaca, which comes from the finest, silkiest areas of the alpaca’s undercoat and is virtually barbless, lending a lovely, smooth hand feel and a beautiful luster. This super beautiful mix of fibers, plus the vitality of its high twist, make knitting the Nine-Note Bundle super fun and super satisfying.

We have lots of other free Nine-Note Bundle patterns and are always coming up with new ones, but one of our favorite things to make is our classic Nine-Note Seed Stitch Wrap (above). A simple knit 1, purl 1 wrap, its surface of checkered hills and valleys beautifully reflects the light, and the nubbly texture also feels amazing in your hands.
