After viewing this scarf pattern- I enjoy this beautiful yarn very much I came across the the baby blanket pattern. I decided to order my own individual colors and the necessary needle. Trying to find the pattern to print it became challenging. I’m just mentioning this as you asked for any feedback.
Hi Ellie,
We’re so sorry to hear you had trouble tracking down your pattern, and we appreciate hearing your feedback! While we work on making it easier to find each pattern, you can find the pattern for the Stripey Tube Scarf right here, and the Super Easy Crib Blanket in Super Soft Merino right here. To print either pattern, you can click on “Print” along the right hand side on the desktop version of our website, or above the comments on mobile view. Then, follow the prompts in the dialog box that appears to edit or adjust your pattern as desired, and click Print!
I hope this helps make it easier to cast on for your next Super Soft Merino project, and thank you again for writing in!
All the best,
Margaret
I’m going to order the bundle for this super darling scarf. I’m noticing it states 635yards is needed but 7 skeins only totals 609 yards. I want to make sure I have enough yarn when I start. Can you please verify. Thanks so much!!
Hi Susan,
Thank you for checking in! I can confirm you will only need 7 skeins of yarn for this scarf (one skein of each color). We appreciate you pointing this discrepancy out to us, and we are actively looking into this with our team to update the yardage requirements!
All the best,
Margaret
I love the striped scarf look, but want to make it into a baby blanket. Can you advise if what I would need, and how to convert the pattern into a baby blanket?
Hi Velvet,
I would recommend making the Super Easy Crib Blanket! This pattern uses the exact same bundle as the scarf, so you could absolutely use the same colors, and all you need is 1 bundle (plus needles). Hope this helps!
All the best,
Lili
Is there a way to duplicate the striping of the stripey tube scarf in the easy baby blanket? The striping would be so pretty in a blanket; can you provide some guidance? Thanks!
Hi Nadine,
Thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can absolutely duplicate the striping from the Super Easy Baby Blanket for this scarf! To do so, just knit with each color until the skein runs out, and then switch to the next color. Hope this helps!
All the best,
Lili
I ordered this kit (for the scarf) and have had to restart 10 times so far! I have watched the tutorial for jogless stripes over and over, but what it doesn’t tell me is how to avoid making a hole when going from one round to the next for the 1×1 stripe. Since the tutorial deals with multiples rounds in each stripe, it doesn’t seem relevant to this pattern.
PLEASE help! I have looked and looked, but can’t find any video/instructions to address this issue and I’m about to give up. 🙁
Thanks!
Hi Jude,
Thank you so much for reaching out. We’re so sorry to hear that you’ve had to restart your project so many times and will do everything we can to help! I would recommend taking a look at the Carrying Up the Yarn tutorial (https://youtu.be/coV8ht6zr70) because this tutorial is especially for 1 x 1 striping and helps to get rid of any holes from switching yarn colors. To avoid holes when doing 1 x 1 striping, at the end of your round, cross the previous yarn color over the top of the new color (the one you’re switching to) and then continue knitting with the new color. This will pin the previous color between your work and the new yarn so it doesn’t go anywhere and gets rid of any gaps!
Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] if you have more questions! We’re more than happy to assist further and are rooting for you to finish your scarf!
All the best,
Cat
I just want to confirm that the stripey scarf WILL show jogs, right? The carrying up the yarn tutorial shows how to carry up the yarn but has nothing to do with jogs.
Hi Barb,
Thanks for reaching out. You’re correct–there will still be jogs in this scarf! Carrying up the yarn will make the join between colors neater, but it will not remove the jog. Hope this helps clarify things!
All the best,
Lili
Love the pattern and colors but looking for a little less bulky. Can you knit this in worsted weight in smaller needles? Can you suggest how many stitches and what yarn and needles to use. I want to do the same pattern. THANK YOU!
Hi Robin,
Using a worsted weight yarn for this pattern is a great idea, and it’s definitely possible! I’d be happy to recommend some yarns, but do you have any particular aspects of a yarn that you’re interested in (other than weight)? That’ll help me narrow down the possibilities!
To figure out your cast-on number, you will want to first knit a gauge swatch in pattern with whichever yarn you end up choosing (if this is daunting, we have a wonderful tutorial called All About Gauge). Once you know how many stitches you are getting per inch, you can multiply that number by the width that you would like and cast on the nearest whole number. Then you can follow the pattern as written!
I’ll keep an eye out for your reply, and then I can give you some yarn suggestions!
All the best,
Lili
Could I knit this funky, wonderful scarf flat, rather than make it a tube? If so how much yarn and width of scarf would you suggest? I love this scarf and want to wear it, so I have t get a knitting!
Thank you.
CarolineTierney
Hi Caroline,
Because this scarf is mainly stockinette stitch, I would not recommend knitting a flat version, since the edges will curl significantly. The curling will essentially make the scarf into a tube again! If you’re interested in making a flat version of it, then I’d recommend changing up the stitch pattern. You can use a stitch like garter or ribbing to avoid any curling at all! Let me know if this interests you, and then I can help calculate yardage and stitch count.
All the best,
Lili
Hi Lili,
Thanks for getting back to me. I am a bit confused about figuring out the width to calculate the gauge as it’s a tube width. I want to use a knitting worsted or DK weight so it’s not as heavy and I do love the Rose Garden group you have shown. Any suggestions?
Again, thanks so much…..
Robin
Ah, I should have clarified! The “width” would actually be the circumference in this case, which is 18 inches.
As for the yarn, I think you’ll be able to most closely match the Rose Garden color palette with Plenty. Here are the colors of this yarn that I’d recommend: Golden Green, Sapphire Blue, Laurel Leaf, Fresh Pickle, Heirloom White, Peony Pink, Plumeria Pink.
All the best,
Lili
