Purl Front And Back (pfb)
Very occasionally, you may come across this 1-stitch increase, which you make by purling into the front and back of the same stitch. Our Purl Front And Back Tutorial shows you how to do it!

Hi. Today I’m going to be showing you how to work the increase of Purl Front And Back. And we’re just going to…We’ll knit a few stitches before we work the Purl Front And Back. Bring your yarn forward, purl to the front of the stitch, and then take your needle and put it into the back of that same stitch and purl to the back. I’ll do that again. I’ll just knit two stitches and then purl front back. So you bring your yarn forward, purling to the front of the stitch. Take the point of your needle, put it to the back of that same stitch, bring it through to the front and purl from the back. We’ll do that one more time very slowly. So you bring your working yarn to the front, purl to the front. Take the tip of your needle, bring it through the back, and purl to the back. And that is Purl Front And Back.

To purl into the front and back, purl the next as usual but leave the stitch on your needle, then insert the right needle purlwise into the back of the same stitch and purl. [1 stitch increased] Easy!

How do work this stitch ptb when you “throw from the right hand?

Thanks for writing us! Purling through the back loop might be difficult if you throw your yarn, but it’s doable. When you insert your right-hand needle into the back of the purl stitch, you will wrap the yarn around the needle counter clockwise and pull the yarn through. Could be pattern be wrong? When knitting 2 different stitches half way k1f&b then m1 on last stitch. The next half is ki p1 does not say to increase but suppose to have 20 stitches on both sides it doesn’t come out. Does that make sense?

I can’t understand your videos at all. You start out slowly and then reall quickly do the rest of the stitch making it very difficult to see what you are doing. Please do more diagrams and instructions. So much easier to understand
