Continue ShoppingSlipstream Wrap
Our Slipstream Wrap pattern is an exploration of color in motion, where the fluid tones of our gradient Nine-Note Bundle flow through shimmering stripes of single-color Note… Gorgeous!

To make this wrap, you knit through one radiant Nine-Note Bundle from light to dark, each shade divided by a stripe of Note. Between each color shift, a few rows of an easy slip-stitch pattern create a graceful transition. Worked on needles one size larger to maintain gauge, these stable slip-stitch sections also help the wrap lie flatter, so it curls only at the very edges.

Soft, springy, and irresistibly touchable, you’ll fall for this beautiful yarn the moment it’s in your hands. Note and our Nine-Note Bundle are the very same yarn, spun from the softest extra-fine merino wool in the world (yes, really!) with a hint of lustrous baby alpaca for gentle drape. A round DK-weight yarn, Note’s characteristic multi-ply structure adds beautiful bounce and body, making it a true joy to knit!

Pick your favorite Nine-Note Bundle, including this lovely new Cameo palette, a soft, vintage pink with a warm glow. Pair it with two 100-gram skeins of Note, and let the easy rhythm of your Slipstream Wrap carry you along on its gentle current!

This is beautiful. Could you please suggest a Note color or two that might pair well with the Tidewater bundle?
Hi Christine!
Thanks for asking. I’d go with Kiln Red or Pink Bisque to pair with the Tidewater bundle—I think those colors would look gorgeous together! Please let us know if any other questions come up along the way!
All the best,
Gavriella
Thank you for the great, easily understood and beautifully recorded instructions for unusual knitting instructulions – “picking up along a vertical edge” – awesome! Thank you
I agree this is beautiful. I would like to use Bluegrass. What color of Note would you pair with that? Thanks
Hi Jody,
Thank you for such kind words! I think the Bluegrass bundle would pair wonderfully with Pink Sunrise or Golden Wheat! Please let us know if you’d like any other color pairing suggestions, we’re always happy to help!
Warmly,
Gavriella
Thanks Gavriella. Do you think Pink Bisque would work as well as Pink Sunrise?
Oh definitely! That sounds like a lovely combo as well!
Thanks!!
This is so beautiful. I really love the penny bundle. What would work well as a contrast color for that one? Thanks!
Hi Nat,
Penny is one of my favorite bundles! It would pair beautifully with something bright such as Kiln Red or True Turquoise!
Happy knitting!
Gavriella
Would denim work with penny? Or what would recommend with denim?
Hi Leslie!
Thank you for your question! Yes, Denim works beautifully with Penny. They pair wonderfully together. In fact, we’ve combined them in projects like the Fenestra Blanket, and the contrast is lovely.
Warmly,
Megan
This is beautiful! I have the now discontinued Jade Sapphire gradient bundle for the Cashmere Ombre’ Wrap sitting in my stash. Would Nigh DK work well as a contrast color?
Hi Tym,
Oooo! That is a great idea! You can definitely use Nigh DK for your contrasting color. That would make for a beautiful wrap!
Kindly,
Gavriella
Can you confirm the base and contrast color yarns are the same? Wondering because of the switching of needle sizes between yarns A & B. Thank you! 🙂
Hi Sabine,
I’m happy to confirm that you’ll use the same yarn throughout the entire pattern. We recommend switching to the larger needles for the slip-stitch section just to keep the stitches from getting too tight—that’s just the nature of that stitch. I hope this helps clarify, and please feel free to reach out if anything else comes up!
All the best,
Gavriella
Love the Slipstream! What color would you pair with the Pomelo base? Thanks so much!
Hi Barbara,
Thanks so much for reaching out! We think there are so many good options for a Pomelo pairing for this project! Here are some of our ideas: Heirloom White: classic, crisp combo, Pink Bisque: Sunrise Vibes, Fresh Pickle: Earthy and vintage, True Turquoise: Bright and bold. I hope something here piques your interest! Please let us know if we can help with anything else!
Kindly,
Andrea
Hello! I bought the nine-note bundle in Mulberry some time ago — and this now seems like the perfect project to make with it! Wondering if you could recommend one or two colors of Note that would work well with the Mulberry colorway. Thank you!!
Hi Anne!
So happy you found the perfect project to use with your Mulberry Bundle! I think Raw Sienna or Vintage Celadon would pair beautifully with those darker hues!
Happy knitting,
Gavriella
Hi!
If I want to make this without the 9 note bundle, but one solid main color instead, how many skeins of note would I need? Two for the accent color per the pattern, but how many main color?
Hi Amber,
Oh what a great idea! For this pattern you will need about 900 yards total of your main color so in this case you will need a total of 5 skeins of Note.
Happy knitting,
Gavriella
Any recommendations for contrast color (Note or another yarn option) if I plan to use Juniper bundle for the main color? My thought was a shade of pink, but hoping for specific recommendation(s). Thanks!
Hi Cara,
Thanks for reaching out!
There are so many great combinations for this wrap! I particularly love Juniper with Chestnut Red and Fresh Fig.
I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Warmly,
Andrea
Can you give me a couple of Note shades that would go with beautyberry? I was looking at fig or that shade or maybe the navy’s?
Hi Marsha Jo,
Thanks for reaching out about this! We’re happy to help with color choices.
The Nine-Note Bundle in Beautyberry would look great with Dark Denim or Heirloom White! If you like complementary colors, you could pair Beautyberry with Golden Wheat for an energetic combination. Fig would blend really well with the lighter colors of Beautyberry, but would have a very subtle contrast with the darker colors, so it wouldn’t give the bold effect of the Slipstream Wrap’s colorwork.
We hope this helps! Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you’d like more personalized palette choices or photos of certain colors together!
Kindly,
Allison
I would love to make this as a throw. How should I adjust the pattern and yarn amounts?
Thanks!!
Hi Kathy!
Thank you for your question! You can definitely turn this into a throw. A standard throw is about 45″ × 60″. At a gauge of 24 sts = 4″ (6 sts/inch), you’ll want 271 stitches (45″ × 6 = 270, plus 1 since the pattern needs an odd number). Since this is about 2.75× wider than the wrap, plan on ~2500 yards of Yarn A (about 3 Nine-Note Bundles) and ~1000 yards of Yarn B (about 5 skeins of Note). If you need help with the sizing of the stripes and color transitions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]!
I hope that helps, and happy knitting!
Megan
I’d appreciate your recommendation for contrast to Beautyberry.
Hi Wendy,
Thanks for reaching out about this! We’re happy to help with color choices.
I think the Nine-Note Bundle in Beautyberry would look great with Dark Denim or Heirloom White! A fun, unexpected option is Golden Wheat, which would make for an energetic, complementary combination.
We hope this helps! Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you’d like more personalized palette choices or photos of certain colors together!
Kindly,
Allison
I would like to make this but without the transition stitches, just solid colors. Is that possible?
Also I’m thinking Cameo and a grey Note maybe Stillwater Blue or your suggestion for a grey
Thank you!
Hi Gayl,
You can absolutely make this with solid color stripes…you can just skip the Color Transition sections!
As for color palettes, I think Cameo would look great with Stillwater Blue! Other good pairings with Cameo are Reed Gray and Dark Denim, so you have plenty of options to choose from.
Feel free to send us an email at [email protected] if you’d like to see any of these colors together. We’re happy to help!
All the best,
Allison
Thank you Allison can’t wait to get started!
I have 9 note bundle in beauty Berry. What color would you suggest as dark color? I found a dark emerald in another yarn from the merino blend of your co.
Hi Marsha Jo,
Thanks for reaching out about this! For a dark color to pair with the Nine-Note Bundle in Beautyberry, I think Cashmere Merino Bloom in Deep Emerald or Note in Dark Denim would both be great choices! They offer enough contrast with Beautyberry and create a cool, calm palette.
We hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.
Kindly,
Allison
What contrast colors would you pair with apple?
Hi Jessica,
Thanks so much for a great question! I really like Blue Rivulet and Pine Cone with the Apple Nine-Note Bundle. Both have a nature inspired vibe to them!
I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Warmly,
Andrea
Hi Allison! Sorry to bother you…I cannot get gauge with Note. I’m up to 9mm needles and not there.
Also if I need to go to a bigger needle I will run out of yarn right?
Thanks for helping!
Hi Gayl,
Thanks for reaching out about gauge. We recommend knitting and blocking your gauge swatch before measuring. Note tends to grow a bit during blocking for most people, so you’ll get the most accurate gauge swatch with blocking before measuring. As long as you are meeting gauge, the yardage shouldn’t change even if your needles size does.
I hope this helps! Please reach out to [email protected] if you have more specific questions. We’re happy to take a look at photos!
Warmly,
Andrea
This is so lovely! Is that blue color really True Turquois? It looks different in these photos compared to the photo on the Note yarn page. I thought maybe it was Blue Rivulet? Thank you!
Hi Lilli,
Thanks so much for asking! It really is True Turquoise! It is amazing how colors can pull differently when they are next to other colors. In this case True Turquoise is next to our new Nine-Note Bundle in Cameo.
I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Warmly,
Andrea
I have started over and I am getting gauge!
Thanks for listening!
Hi Gayl!
That’s great news! Getting gauge makes all the difference. Thanks so much for the update, and happy knitting!
Megan
