Mini Sampler
So sweet, so simple, so perfect for so many on this season’s gift list! In the time it takes to navigate the bustling crowds, you could be happily ensconced in your favorite chair, hand stitching a charming Mini Sampler!
If you’re familiar with our Beginner Sampler Kit, you’ll recognize these lovely little circlets, here re-imagined for end-of-the year festivities. New touches, including metallic floss and glistening seed beads, imbue these sweeties with a real holiday spirit!
Designed for beginners, but equally appealing to longtime embroiderers, the Mini Sampler Kit comes in four palettes, appropriate for any season: Sweet Melon, Pink Dune, Sweet Hay, and Sea Glass.
Everything you’ll need is in the Kit: a pattern booklet and stencils, enough materials for one of the three designs, and an embroidery hoop that does double duty. Use it first to stitch up your Mini Sampler, then as a frame for displaying!
Tie it up with a bow and wish happy holidays to your neighbors, colleagues, friends, and family!
This project designed for Purl Soho by Corinne Gill.

So I’m a long time knitter and saw this on the website and decided I need to try this out because I wanted a new hobby! It came in the mail yesterday and I’m super excited to get started. Here’s where I’m struggling – I traced the pattern and am ready to go but when I sat down to thread the needle it seems like the embroidery floss is too thick and I couldn’t get it through the needle. Am I suppoesed to separate and only use a few strands? I tried to find the answer on my own but am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
Hi Eileen,
Thank you so much for writing in! I fear that you have found an error in our pattern! This lovely little sampler should be worked with 2 plies of DMC as opposed to the full 6 plies. This was certainly a mistake on our part and we are correcting it moving forward. Please accept our apologies and I do hope that this helps you create a successful and beautiful sampler!
Best,
Cassy
This is really cool idea.In fact this could be used to decorate wall, and since its mini, and the pattern done also seems easier. Thanks for sharing the idea
