To help me by finding a lonely skein of yarn after hearing my tail of woe (running out of yarn before a vest is finished) is really beyond the call of duty! I began to think of Purl Soho as my own LYS several years ago, when I would browse the website during Covid--so reliable when it wasn't feasible to shop locally. Since then, even though Covid shopping is a memory, I still rely on Purl Soho because they ACT like they are just down the street from you. You, as an individual knitter, matter to them. And they respond to their emails! Love my yarns I've gotten from them, but it's absolutely the service that keeps me coming back. That and reading the comments in the "Create" section on patterns, even when it isn't something I'm making at that moment!

I can't wait to start knitting my shawl. I love all the colors. What impressed me was the quick service I received. I had a question and I received an email back the same day. My order was shipped from California (I'm in NY) and I received it in 2 days. I feel I have definitely found an online store that I am very happy with. All of our local yarn shops have closed and now I have found a place to order from in the comfort of my home. The colors I received look just like the colors that were shown online. Just wish I lived closer to Purl Soho so I could have a local yarn shop to frequent.

Lili, in customer service, has been great in responding quickly and recommended several yarns that could work. I chose one and the skeins are on their way to me. A colleague introduced me to Purl Soho during the pandemic in 2020, and since then I have knitted 5 cardigans, 7 pullovers, countless beanies and mittens, and a small shoulder bag (some of these for my sister, sons, and other relatives). Pur Soho patterns are exquisite and generate impeccably cut garments full of clever details that make them fashionable and hip (I tend to go for seamless garments on circular needles). The yarns are sublime from alpaca, to cashmere or silk blends, and organic cottons, and the tutorials (including answers to pattern specific questions) are invaluable. While I work full time and have a pretty consuming job, I knit at night or on weekend, and find it very therapeutic and relaxing! While I did knit many years ago, somehow I never found the result all that wearable, although this really changed after I started using Purl Soho patterns and had access to advice/tutorials. The yarns can be expensive (as everywhere in the US though), although I always look for their sales (regularly 20 or 25% off on many gorgeous yarns). As a busy person I rarely take the time to write reviews, although I could not resist sharing my enthusiasm here!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your beautiful site and all that you do. About a year ago I purchased your Learn to Knit kit. I had previously attempted to learn to knit a couple of years ago, maybe 2019, and I had barely started to figure it out when my precious dog ate my project - bamboo needles and all! – they smelled like me I guess, but I digress. I decided to try again in winter 2023 and found your site and kit and I haven’t looked back. All your thoughtful learning instructions and videos and even the replies to the messages have been invaluable to me. I’m also in love with your very high quality yarns and products. It makes me feel like I am investing in things that can be treasured for many, many years – both the tools I’ve purchased to work projects and the projects themselves. All the natural fibers are amazing. Learning to knit has done such good things for me -my brain, my anxiety and self-esteem, etc.. it is such a pleasure to be productive and feel accomplished. I don’t think I have ever been so motivated to complete projects the way I have with my knitting projects.

I also wanted to say a special thank you for the free patterns you share. I recently completed your Arboretum Wrap. This was a gift for my sister that I worked in a baby alpaca/wool yarn of all her favorite colors. Although it wasn’t a yarn purchased from you at Purl Soho, it was perfect for my sis. I am working on another arboretum wrap for myself in your beautiful Knitting Yarn in Blue Willow. I just wanted to share what you helped teach me to accomplish. I attached some pictures of the completed Arboretum Wrap and one of my sis using it in real life. I tell everyone about your site and I share links to the patterns I’ve worked including the Dovetail Wrap, the Daily Scarf, the Striped Triangle Garter Wrap and am working on the Terrace Wrap.
