I ordered a lovely “cone” of yarn from Purl Soho……it came beautifully packed, even a sample of lovely yarn was with it. But…. I couldn’t figure out how to find the tail to being my knitting adventure even with poking around in the center of the cone. I didn’t want to somehow mess up the whole thing by fishing around for the “start” so sent off a question. I expected it would be days, if ever, I would receive an answer to “where is the tail?” I received an answer the next morning. I still had a question, sent another email and again had my answer the next morning. The answers were thoughtful, and very warm. Much appreciated. It’s been a pleasure to deal with experts at Purl Soho.

There are wonderful tutorials on the website too, so you can learn new techniques as you go. Best of all, if you get stuck you can request a Zoom appointment with an experienced knitter - you don't have to struggle through alone! I've tried shopping on other sites and keep coming back to Purl Soho. It simply has everything I need and want from a yarn goods store, plus genuinely nice people who are available to help at every turn. I'm so glad I found Purl Soho. I am new to knitting & have used all of Purl Soho’s online videos along with my Learn to Knit booklet that came with my first project, the scarf kit. I am now tackling the Nature’s Palette blanket. I have had challenges with the pattern & decided after looking at other online comments to reach out to customer service. Cat & Lili were both so helpful in coaching me for success on my Nature’s Palette blanket. They confirmed my proposal to do the seed stitch throughout the entire blanket vs using the pattern included with the kit. Yeah! They have set me up for success. They instructed me to cast on an odd number of stitches then I can k1,p1 & so on…. for row one. Then just repeat row 1 for the entire blanket. Easy peasy seed stitch!! Thanks again. I love everything about Purl Soho!!!!

Purl Soho is truly a third gathering place even now that it's online. The yarn is gorgeous, the colors and texture so clearly reflected in the great photography. My favorite pattern will always be Traveling Cable Mitts and Hat. Their how-to videos are so good and the fact they respond directly by email or if you comment on their site they answer there so we can all learn. While I try to support my local Oregon yarn shops I still buy yarn at Purl Soho as often as possible.
