• This yarn's distinctive texture comes from spinning three plies of just the noil, which are the short fibers created when silk is combed and carded. Also called raw silk (although it's not "raw" at all!), the resulting fiber has a lighter drape than other silks, a more subtle shine, and an offhanded elegance.
