Big on warmth and cozy comfort, our classic Boot Socks pattern is back, now knit in super cushy Daily Wool Worsted. These beauties hit the perfect stride, soft on your feet and durable for daily wear, and now this yarn comes in 12 new colors, too, so your socks will always match the mood of the day!

The Boot Socks are true classics, knit from the top down with the heel shaped by an easy-peasy heel flap and gusset. Ribbing at the calves keeps the socks in place; a cushioned heel adds extra comfort; and little pops of color at the heels and toes add a playful touch (and let you delve into Daily Wool Worsted’s amazing colors)!

With a generous gauge of 5½ stitches per inch, these are a great place for first-time sock knitters to start, letting you enjoy shaping heels and toes without the tiny stitches. And sock knitters from beginners to experts will love how quickly they whip up!

Daily Wool Worsted is just the right yarn for socks you’ll reach for day after day. Super soft against the skin, sturdy and resilient, and resistant to pilling, it’s a machine wash- and dry-able yarn built to keep up with your busy feet. You’ll feel a springy bounce with every stitch and cushioned comfort with every step!

Daily Wool Worsted comes in 36 heathered colors, including 12 new ones to mix, match, and express yourself. From classic neutrals to happy brights and unusual off-tones, you’ll find the perfect pair for your new Boot Socks. For ours, we combined newcomers Giant Sequoia, Dew Blue, and Lilac Mauve with some of our all-time favorites!

Whether you’re heading out in winter boots, city boots, rain boots, or just padding around the house, your Boot Socks in Daily Wool Worsted will keep your feet cozy season after season and bring you delight every day!

How long are boots socks going to last without nylon or silk in the yarn?
Hi Lynn,
That’s a great question! These socks can last you many years with the right care. Since our Daily Wool is a super-wash yarn, it is quite durable making it able to withstand normal wear. I hope this helps alleviate any concern but please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you!
All the best,
Gavriella
I want a knee high sock pattern that can be stitch adjusted to different weights of yarn. Short top socks eventually sag unless you knit thread elastic into the cuff portion.
Hi Patricia,
Thanks for writing in! We don’t have a knee-high pattern written for different yarn weights, but we do have some (free!) knee-high sock patterns that you may like: Very Long Socks and Little Cable Knee Highs.
As for the cuffs on shorter socks, we’re glad you’ve found a technique that works for you! If your sock cuffs are too loose, you could also try knitting the cuffs on a needle that is one size smaller.
We hope this helps!
Happy knitting,
Allison
What would you suggest as a substitute with nylon in it for longevity?
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for writing in! While we don’t currently have a worsted weight yarn with nylon, one thing you could do is hold 3 strands of either Stormy or Fine Print together for the extra nylon fibers. I hope this helps but please let me know if there is anything I can answer for you!
All the best,
Gavriella
