  • Beginning Loom Weaving I: Rigid Heddle Loom
    Saturday, September 30, 12-3PM
    This one-day workshop covers the ins and outs of using a rigid heddle loom. Through demonstrations, as well as hands-on practice, you will leave with an understanding of how to create a beautiful hand-woven textile and with the confidence to continue to explore the incredible art of weaving!

  • Make Your Own Dress with Cal Patch
    Saturday, September 30, 11AM-6PM + Sunday October 1, 10AM-5PM
    Make your own custom dress with Cal Patch! In this 2-day intensive you will draft a pattern based on your measurements, sew a dress from the pattern, and learn new skills, including sewing zippers, hems, bias facings, and more. Customize your dress to any length, with any type of sleeve and neckline. In the end, you'll have not only a made-to-fit dress, but your very own custom pattern so you can fill your wardrobe with a collection of great fitting dresses!

  • Beginning Knitting I: Learn to Knit a Scarf
    Sunday, Ocotober 1, 8, 15, 3-5PM
    Go from novice to knitter in this 3-session class! Along the way, you will discover the fun and fascination of knitting, while creating your very own hand knit scarf.

  • Intermediate Knitting: Baby Socks
    Tuesday, October 3 + 17, 5:00-7:00PM
    Hand-knit socks are not only a wonderfully portable and fun project, they're also a serious delight to wear! Learn how to make these classic Baby Socks over the course of just two classes, and walk away with the perfect baby gift!

  • Cocoknits Sweater Workshop with Julie Weisenberger
    Saturday, October 14, 10AM-3PM
    Join Cocoknits' Julie Weisenberger to learn her sure-fire method for knitting top-down seamless sweaters! Using her Sweater Workshop book, Julie will get you off on the right foot, showing you the ins and outs of swatching for her Emma sweater pattern and then working through at least the upper back and shoulders together (click on thumbnail photos to see different versions of the Emma!). Julie will also explain how the Sweater Worksheet Journal works and will help everyone fill out their own Worksheets, so they may continue knitting at home!

    In over your head on a Purl Soho project? Or just need some help getting started? Whatever the obstacle and whatever your skill level, bring in your project and enjoy the assistance of a teacher and the pleasure of knitting companions!

  • Beginning Tapestry Weaving
    Sunday, October 22, 12-3PM
    Simple, portable, affordable, and fun, weaving on a tapestry loom is a wonderful place to start your weaving journey! Students will leave this three-hour demonstration workshop with an understanding of how to create a beautiful hand-woven textile and with the confidence to continue to explore the fascinating art of tapestry weaving.

  • Rug Hooking Workshop with Rose Pearlman
    Saturday, October 28, 12-3PM
    Learn the fundamentals of punch-needle rug hooking with Rose Pearlman! Using her beautiful Object-Art Rug Hooking Kit, Rose walks you through this traditional technique in one three-hour class. You'll learn all the special skills and creative possibilities of punch-needle rug hooking, creating your own designs or using Rose's templates. Each student will receive one of Rose's Kits, which includes 6 beautifully hand dyed yarns, a wooden frame with pre-stretched monks cloth, a punch needle, optional templates for design inspiration, a complete set of illustrated instructions, and a silk screened cotton pouch for easy storage (all included in the price of the class!).

  • Beginning Knitting II: Basic Hats for Everyone
    Wednesday, November 1, 8 + 15, 5-7PM
    Take your knitting skills to the next level and learn to knit in the round! The Basic Hats for Everyone Pattern is the kind of hat that you turn to again and again, year after year. It covers four hat styles: rolled brim, garter stitch brim, ribbed brim and ear flap; and is sized to fit just about everyone: babies, uncles, and grandmas. It is also basic enough for learning all the fundamentals of knitting in the round!
