Purl Rabbit Raglan Sweater
Brrr! It’s cold here at Purl, but Rabbit is bundled up in a warm merino cardigan. This cozy Koigu sweater is a miniature copy of a classic raglan cardigan; great practice for human-sized sweaters, only more cute!

SLEEVES
NOTE: Make two.
Cast on 20 stitches, leaving a tail of yarn about 8 inches long to use for sewing up sleeve and underarms when you are done. We used a basic Long Tail Cast On.
Knit 6 rows (this will create 3 garter stitch ridges).
Row 7: Knit.
Row 8: Purl.
Repeat rows 7 and 8 until sleeve measures 4 inches from cast on edge. Purl Rabbit has extra long arms, so if the doll you’re knitting for has arms that are a different length, measure from the doll’s wrist to his or her underarm to get the proper measurement for your sleeve.
Bind off 3 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows.
Place 14 remaining stitches on a stitch holder; set aside.
Repeat for second sleeve. Set aside.

Hello, I had a quick question about the sleeve pattern.
The pattern states, after knitting four inches, to bind off 3 stitches on the next two rows, so would I bind off three stitches knitwise, then three stitches purlwise on the next row?
Hi Felipa-
Yes, that’s the right idea. You should bind off in either knit or purl, depending on the side.
Thanks for your question!
Molly
Just love the rabbit
Do you have finished dimensions for this little sweater? I’d be interested in length (measured at center of the back from neck to hem), circumference and sleeve length. Thanks!
Hi Shelby,
Thanks for writing in! Sorry for the late reply! We were looking for the sample and can’t find it. It’s quite an old pattern. So sorry! I would do a gauge swatch with your yarn and measure the stitches and rows per inch. This way you can calculate exactly how large your sweater will come out by dividing the rows required by your rows per inch. Let me know if you have any questions!
