Our Simply Camel couldn't be simpler. One hundred percent undyed baby camel, there is only one choice: yarn how it was grown by the animals who grew it. Simply Camel's 2-ply spin is a fingering weight, best knit on US 2 or 3 (3 or 3.25 mm) needles. Incredibly soft with a beautiful drape and a desert glow, Simply Camel is a wonderful choice for classic sweaters, heirloom scarves, and all-time favorite hats. It is also Peru Fair Trade Certified, which means the mill that makes it is committed to fair and safe working conditions, as well as a respect for the environment, with low-impact production techniques, a responsible consumption of resources, and the reuse, recycling, and reduction of raw materials. It also adheres to European regulations that protect human health and the environment from harmful chemicals. Simply Camel comes from camels who live freely in unfenced pastures. Once their fibers are cut with scissors, brushed with combs, or gathered from the ground, it is sorted for quality and sent to a scouring mill that uses underground water and APEO-free detergent. The wastewater gets processed first in their own mill and then again by a facility set up by the local government, all to prevent dirty water from entering the ecosystem. So, in the end, Simply Camel may be simple, but its beauty runs deep!
