Knitting Needles Conversion Chart
If your yarn label or pattern lists needles in a size unfamiliar to you, our Knitting Needles Conversion Chart comes in handy!
Knitting needles are sized in at least a few different units, which is a recipe for a lot of confusion. To make matters even murkier, several of those units are somewhat arbitrary and are not based on an actual unit of measurement. If you really want to keep your needles straight, the metric system of sizing them is the most reliable and consistent, but regionally, other systems have taken hold, and they’re a hard habit to break! When in doubt, use our Knitting Needles Conversion Chart to compare and convert US, metric, UK/ Canada/ Australia, and Japanese knitting needle sizes.
Maybe our Knitting Needle Conversion Chart makes sense, but you have unmarked needles and still don’t know what size your needles are… Keep a needle gauge on hand! Our Brass Needle Gauge measures needles from US 00 (1.75mm) to US 15 (10.0mm) and also includes 4-inch and 10cm rulers for determining gauge… Very handy!
