Julie Hoover’s updated Chaleur is a perfect popover featuring a classic herringbone stitch. With a fresh look in Purl Soho’s Linen Quill Worsted, Chaleur makes an exquisite layering piece with the style and ease that we’ve come to adore from Julie’s designs. The pullover hem is worked flat in two pieces, then joined to work the body circularly from hem to underarms. The sleeve underarms and shoulders are grafted and the collar is worked circularly from live stitches, then turned and sewn to the inside. Julie considers this pattern to be a 3 out of 5 in difficulty and has kindly shared this PDF only pattern with Purl Soho.

- 7 (8, 9, 9, 11, 11) skeins of Purl Soho’s Linen Quill Worsted, 50% fine highland wool, 35% alpaca, and 15% linen. Each skein is approximately 164 yards/ 100 grams. Approximately 1115 (1180, 1415, 1475, 1680, 1750) total yards required. Julie used the color Stillwater Blue.
- US 7 (4.5 mm), 16-, and 32-inch circular needles
- US 6 (4 mm), 16-inch circular needles (or one size smaller than gauge needle)
- US 5 (3.75 mm), 16-inch circular needles (or two sizes smaller than gauge needle)
- Scrap yarn
- A few stitch markers, including one unique
- Stitch holders or scrap yarn
- T-pins and blocking wires (optional)
