The Montane Hat is a great gift-giving project for the holidays! Stockinette Hat: CO 68 (76, 84, 92)

Ribbed Hat: CO 72 (80, 88, 96)

  • 1 (1, 1, 1) skein of Harrisville Designs’ Highland,100% virgin wool, shown in colors Lime and Suede (Baby), Camel and Zinnia (Toddler), Jade and Woodsmoke (Child/Teen), and Toffee and Topaz (Adult); or 86 (110, 136, 164) yards of worsted weight yarn
  • US 8 (5mm), 16-inch circular needles (for Child/Teen and Adult sizes), or size needed to obtain gauge 
  • US 7 (4.5mm), 16-inch circular needles (for Ribbing for Child/Teen and Adult sizes), or one size smaller than gauge needles
  • A set of US 8 double pointed needles (for all sizes), or size needed to obtain gauge for crown shaping
  • A set of US 7 double pointed needles (for Ribbing for Baby/Toddler sizes), or one size smaller than gauge needles



18½ stitches and 27 rounds = 4 inches in stockinette stitch with gauge needles, after blocking
