  • Beginning Embroidery: Learn to Embroider Mini Sampler
    Thursday, June 21st, 5-7PM
    This beginner's hand embroidery workshop puts you on the path to stitching right away! Using our beautiful Mini Sampler Kit, we'll cover the basics of embroidery, including all the stitches used in our Leaf, Herringbone, and Criss Cross Patterns. Every student will receive a Mini Sampler Kit in the color of his or her choice, so just bring yourself... no supplies required!

  • Beginning Tapestry Weaving
    Sunday, July 8th, 12-3PM
    Simple, portable, affordable, and fun, weaving on a tapestry loom is a wonderful place to start your weaving journey! Students will leave this three-hour workshop with an understanding of how to create a beautiful hand-woven textile and with the confidence to continue to explore the fascinating art of tapestry weaving.

  • Beginning Loom Weaving: Rigid Heddle
    Sunday, July 15, 12-3PM
    This one-day workshop covers the ins and outs of using a rigid heddle loom. Through demonstrations, as well as hands-on practice, you will leave with an understanding of how to create a beautiful hand-woven textile and with the confidence to continue to explore the incredible art of weaving!

  • Beginning Knitting I: Learn-to-Knit Scarf
    Monday, July 16, 23 + 30, 5-7PM
    Go from novice to knitter in this 3-session class! Along the way, you will discover the fun and fascination of knitting, while creating your very own hand knit scarf.

  • Denyse Schmidt's A Different Stripe Quilt Workshop
    Saturday, July 21 2018
    Denyse Schmidt is a renowned quilt designer and a great friend of Purl Soho! She is especially loved for her colorful and improvisational approach. Based on traditional designs, her quilts always have a distinctly modern look and spirit of creativity and fun. Learn how she does it at this special hands-on day of sewing and learning. Denyse will share her techniques and methods while you improvise your own version of her Different Stripe Quilt. Learn to trust your intuition, build your creative confidence, and streamline your patchwork process!

  • Pom Pom Garland Workshop with Marisa Morrison
    Saturday, July 28th, 12-3PM
    Join pom pom expert, Marisa Morrison of The Neon Tea Party, for a super fun workshop creating Pom Pom Garlands with tassel accents! Students will use an array of colors hand-selected from the Purl Soho yarn collection, as well as the handy-dandy Loome Tool, to create a very satisfying and beautiful Garland. You will learn how to create patterned pom poms and layered tassels, and also how to string them all together. In the end, you'll have your very own Garland to take home, as well as the skills and tools you'll need to make more...all while having a lot of fun!

    Take your knitting skills to the next level and learn to knit in the round! The Basic Hats for Everyone Pattern is the kind of hat that you turn to again and again, year after year. It covers four hat styles: rolled brim, garter stitch brim, ribbed brim and ear flap; and is sized to fit just about everyone: babies, uncles, and grandmas. It is also basic enough for learning all the fundamentals of knitting in the round!
