Kumon
Designed by Stacey Gerbman for Brooklyn Tweed, Kumon is the perfect balance of mindless and mindful! Beginning with a hem of rib stitch, the beauty and meditative quality of Kumon grows into half-brioche for the body and sleeves. Featuring Arbor’s crisp stitch definition, the body is knit flat in one piece from the bottom up and the sleeves are knit flat and seamed. MATERIALS
- 10 (11, 12, 13, 14) skeins of Brooklyn Tweed’s Arbor or 1375 (1495, 1645, 1765, 1915) total yards of DK weight wool yarn. Sample shown in color Driftwood.
- US 7 (4½ mm) 32-inch circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge for Main Fabric
- US 5 (3¾ mm) 40-inch circular needles, or two sizes smaller than gauge needle for Ribbing
GAUGE
14 stitches and 34 rows = 4 inches in half-brioche stitch with gauge needle(s), after blocking
SIZES
40½ (44, 48½, 52, 56½) inches [103 (112, 123, 132, 143.5) cm] chest circumference, with fronts overlapped, with an intended ease of +4–10 inches [10–25 cm]
