Update on 10/15/2012
We have a winner: Janessa! She hopes to use her new skills to design a “modern geometric piece” or a “vibrant blue floral.” A big thank you to everyone who entered and shared their great ideas, as well as to STC Craft|Melanie Falick Books for making this fun giveaway possible!
I am a newbie sewer so I would make an apron!
What a great way to start fall!
I would love to design my own bohemian fabrics and make bedding for my kids
Thanks for the giveaway! I would make high-waisted full skirts, shirtdresses, and bags with the digitally designed printed fabric.
I would make a custom fabric to include in my quilts in place of adding a label or embroidering. I would love to make something subtle and pretty! I would also love to use my daughter's drawings in a fabric design.
I love all things knit, and lately one thing I've been dreaming of creating are home linens with knit prints.
I would love to design my own fabric to reupholster the breakfast nook chairs!! Thanks for the great giveaway.
I would make a pattern of my own rendition of stardust. I took an astronomy + physics at art school (yea, I know). My 4' 8" professor with his famous bright purple polo shirt walked in the very first day and said, "We are all made of stardust!" That was 4 years ago and has stuck with me ever since. I want to make stardust for my new baby girl.
Oh the possibilities!!!!!
My mother sews vintage reproduction clothing. I would love for her to have these books.
And if she were able to design her own fabrics the sky would be the limit!!
My mother shops for vintage fabic and ends up with a lot of small pieces or pieces with age and damage. While these pieces are inspiring they are not always usable. I would love for her to have the ability to create exactly what she wants.
First I would probably make a bag of some sort – because i love purses/totes/wallets/coins purses etc… Then I would make a quilt – because that is my comfort zone. However, i would embellish that quilt and the fabric with some of the new embroidery techniques that I am currently studying/learning. Oh, to one day have time to learn to knit. So many wonderful crafts, so little time to do them all in….
Great giveaway! I think that if I was to design a print, I would use it to make quirky bedding for babies. I find baby linen to often be uninspired and exuberantly expensive.
All the best,
Christina
One of the first things I'd probably make are panels of wallpaper for my bedroom. It just needs a little punch of pattern and color. 🙂 After that I'm sure the creative juices would be flowing and there'd be no stopping me.
I would make some cute flirty skirts and some cozy blankets!
Love these beautiful prints!
I would make a new camera strap with a digital textile, I am thinking tiny turtles. I also need a fun new comforter cover in a fun print to snuggle in this winter.
Wallpaper and wrapping paper…that is too cool!
Pillows, pillows, more pillows!
Thanks Purl Bee, you're the best!!
Oooh, so many lovely possibilities! I would love to make throw pillows for my relatives' housewarming gifts.
I'd make new bed linens for the family — even the animal beds!
I'd love to design fabric for window coverings in my apartment, I have yet to find the perfect design!
Wallpaper!! Wallpaper!! Wallpaper!! I have been looking to use some in my bedroom but have not been able to decide. There are so many choices but nothing stands out for me. It would be lovely to create my own!!
Good luck all,
Jessica N xxx
OH MY! What a great giveaway! Thanks for sharing!
I need a creative boost and this would give it to me!
Since my body has moved further and further from the fashion industry standard as I've aged, I have been wanting to learn to make my own clothes. I think it is the only way to get clothes to fit.
I would love to make some paper for the covers of some hand made books.
what a fantastic give away! your gorgeous blog is at the top of my blogroll, and i often find myself looking through the archives at projects i've seen many times now, and find a continual delight! Well done!
Wow, thanks a lot for offering these books. I'm already dreaming of the wonderful things I can do.
I would make it in different color combinations and frame it. It would be nice Christmas gift for all my friends. Thanks for wonderful site "the purl bee" Viera

i'd make a dress for sure. i'm a big nerd and i love finding new ways to let my geek flag fly… and this would be a great chance! geeky spaceship fabric? amirite? 🙂
I would make pillows for my living room!! I can't find fabric that is similar to what I have in mind. To make my own fabric would be awesome!
I've been thinking a lot lately about customizing clothes for my new daughter. I would love to add a custom print as trim for her dresses, lining for her pockets and insides of satchels, and appliques. I` love the idea of creating small, everyday surprises for her.
I make hand-bound journals and mini notebooks, so I would use the prints for the covers of my books.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love to design some fabric to make some cute clothes for my kiddos.
I would make tea towels for all my sisters using our Mom's and Nana's hand written recipe cards
